Canopy Door not releasing

We have experienced an issue with the star washers on the canopy latch mechanisms coming loose causing the latches not to release. We have identified this as most likely being a result of the way they are installed causing them to be weakened.

 

 

The reason we use the star washers is due to the fact these allow slop for the rods to move back and forth. The star washers are rated to 20kg of pull force so should be more than sufficient to secure the rod for a long period of time. 

 

     

If a canopy door jams, this will most likely be caused by the below:

     

Releasing the door:

 

     

Remove the lock over the cover off the back of the door by undoing the 6 bolts shown below:

Press the lever away from the latch as shown below to release the latch.


Resolving the issue:
The cause of this not releasing will be caused by the star washer coming away from the rod, If we were to supply some replacement star washers, would you be able to swap these out? We are happy to assist with any questions you may have with what is involved in this.
